Currently on display at the Art Gallery of Regina is SYSTEMS, an installation by Regina based artist Holly Fay. Fay’s latest project is an installation consisting of hundreds of paintings positioned over the gallery walls. Although showing consistent similarities each painting is an individual piece. Subject matter that suggests cells, veins, and other botanic or body structures are adapted and reoccur throughout the installation. Organized into groupings, the many pieces progress over the gallery walls to form the large-scale work. Acknowledging the connections of living organisms within the natural environment this work offers analogies between plant and human life systems.
The Gallery is open Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm; Friday to Sunday 1 to 5 pm.
