AFA Travelling Exhibit Abstract Thinking
to
Canmore Art Guild Gallery at Elevation Place 102-700 Railway Avenue (Elevation Place), Canmore, Alberta T1W 1P4
The Canmore Art Guild will be hosting an Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travelling Exhibition from September 7th through the 25th at the Canmore Public Library Art Gallery.
"Abstract Thinking" is defined as a level of learning about things that are removed from the facts of the ‘here and now’ and from specific examples of the things or concepts being thought about it. It involves the ability to reflect on events, ideas and perceived analogies and relationships that others may not see and to apply these reflections to solve problems and test solutions. Through the art works presented in this exhibition, viewers are invited to investigate the origins of this genre of artistic expression and some of the contemporary directions abstraction in the visual arts embraces.
The official opening will be at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 7th. The Gallery, located at 950 - 8th Avenue in Canmore, is open 11 am to 8 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 11 am to 5 pm, Friday through Sunday.
