Port Moody Arts Centre presents Art 4 Life, four weeks of art, activities and events geared to children and families. This multimedia exhibition features professional artists and also includes theatre, sing-alongs and poetry. It is designed to teach, inspire and engage young people. The exhibition also raises opportunities for active participation, discussion, cultural awareness and lessons on art appreciation. The benefits of an arts education affect every area of life and we want it to be a lifelong journey.
Joyelle Brandt started creating Princess Monsters on a whim. They represented an alternative to the hoard of thin, pretty, girly characters that perpetuate eating disorders and an unhealthy obsession with physical beauty. Through creating these monsters, Joyelle has started a conversation about learning to love and accept every part of you.
The book Princess Monsters from A to Z will be released concurrently with the exhibition.
