Bill Brownridge
On May 14th, we look forward to welcoming Bill Brownridge back to Calgary for what promises to be a spectacular exhibit.
Bill writes, "looking back in my 90th year from the summit of my art journey I have followed several paths; illustration, abstraction, impressionism. The theme that has held true: emotion! Bright colours representing heightened emotions a foundation of Heart of Hockey that has been my life's passion and work."
Please join us in recognizing Bill Brownridge's 2022 induction into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame Saturday, May 14, 2-4 PM
Growing up in the 1930s with Spina Bifida, Bill Brownridge channeled his love of sport, particularly hockey, into activities in which he could excel: writing and painting. For more than 70 years Bill has captured the spirit of hockey in those two media. He has written five children’s picture books and is an internationally recognized artist. He designed the logo of the Calgary Centennials junior hockey team, created one iteration of the Calgary Flames uniform, and served as the official artist of the 1988 Calgary Olympic bid. His paintings were a catalyst for the creation of Hockey Day in Canada.
