Bratsa Bonifacho and James Wyper have had a mentor and protégé relationship for over a decade. After meeting in Calgary in 2009, they began a long tradition of studio visits in which Wyper observed and learned from Bonifacho’s painting techniques. Both artists share a love of colour and an interest in systems and code language, exhibited in Bonifacho’s Cloud and Habitat Pixel series, and Wyper’s Code World paintings.
