Opening Reception July 29, 2017, 2 – 4 pm
In August of 2014, the Provincial and Territorial Craft Councils and the Canadian Crafts Federation set out to "Rematerialize Craft." The goals of this exploration were to clarify and deepen the public’s understanding of craft and make craft more accessible to Canadians.
‘Citizens of Craft’ is a movement.
Declare yourself and join the movement of makers, appreciators, shoppers and admirers. If you respect the original, the creative, the personal and the authentic – you are a citizen.

Citizens of Craft is a national initiative in response to the great need determined by the Alberta Craft Council and all other provincial and territorial craft councils to unify voices, to stop trying to define craft and to instead celebrate its diversity – what it is, what it represents, and who it defines – those who make and those who appreciate.
