This collection represents the pinnacle of Paul Chizik's career. It showcases a blend of classical tradition with a contemporary approach and plein-air work. All the artwork is currently on display in the gallery. The best way to experience and appreciate these large-scale canvases is in person at our gallery.
Paul Chizik is among the 35 hot Vancouver artists to look out for.
His paintings are rooted in the classical tradition with a contemporary approach. He works in the custom of painting major-scale canvases in the studio as well as the plein-air custom of working directly outdoors in a variety of environments where the natural splendour or raw urban power is immediate.
His work ranges from landscapes to portraiture, figurative narratives, and still life. As an artist, mentor, and teacher, he hopes to see the art of painting regain its role as an exciting, current, and vibrant visual medium with renewed urgency.
