W.H. (Bill) Webb is recognized as one of Canada's leading 'high realist' artists. Born and raised in England, he was classically trained at the University of Manchester. After moving to Canada as an art teacher, Webb continued his education at the University of Lethbridge and the University of Alberta.
For more than 25 years Webb has been a full-time professional artist. He is represented by major galleries across Canada and has been honoured by having a painting in the national collection of Canada.
Bill Webb has developed a style which is often described as 'hyper-realist' and 'photo-realist' -- a combination of watercolour technique and a hugely personal application of acrylic paint. Webb's paintings are about light and are intellectually developed using space, form, colour, line, unity and a lasting passionate love affair with the Alberta landscape.
