David More is recognized as an accomplished Canadian painter. Since graduating from the Alberta College of Art in 1972, David went on to become an art history researcher, illustrator/writer, muralist, painter and teacher. But David’s passion as a landscape painter took precedent and he returned to his rural roots and with his wife Yvette established their home, studio and award winning garden in Benalto west of Red Deer in 1994. David’s work has been included in many public exhibitions across Canada and his paintings and drawings are in numerous corporate, public and private collections in Canada, the US and abroad.
“Lasting Impressions” is a collection of paintings that span the past 20 years where David has immersed himself in the landscape surrounding his home.
As David considers his career as a painter, he says, “It turns out I like forests and the water that courses through them, gardens for their symbolism and their reach between nature and design, mountain forms for the power they force upon us, and the rural landscape and the skies that stretch above them.”
