Courtesy of the Gallery.
Opening Reception Saturday, March 4th between 4:30 - 7pm.
This visual story traces history back to Mueller’s ancestral roots in rural central and northern Manitoba. A child of the ‘Sixties Scoop’, Mueller was taken from her Métis/Anisinaabe mother at birth and placed into a Ukrainian family. It was only as an adult with children of her own that Mueller discovered her Indigenous roots and has spent the last years on a personal reclamation journey into her Indigeneity. Mueller intentionally works with a large format analogue camera which is a slow and contemplative process that contributes to her methodology of intentional and present creation.
