Drawn to Draw Invite
The Fort Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition Drawn to Draw, March 15 - April 2, 2017. This exhibit features three separate events for participants and the public to enjoy.
1. Fort Gallery artists are extending an invitation to all adult artists throughout the Lower Mainland to drop off one drawing on loose paper (no framed artwork), Sunday, March 12th, 12-5pm. (Please make sure your drawings are labeled with contact information on the back.) All drawings will be pinned up salon style on the gallery walls.
2. All artists are then invited to return to the gallery Sunday, March 19, 1-4pm to participate in a “Collaborative Draw In”, which will be held in conjunction with the exhibit’s opening reception.
3. Throughout the run of the exhibit there will be a still life installation created in the centre of the gallery. The Fort Gallery invites all participants to use the installation as a source of direct or indirect inspiration to “draw” from. Artists are encouraged to come together as a group or drop in individually during gallery hours, Wednesday-Sunday, noon-5pm to draw. All drawings done on site will be added to the salon. We will have drawing materials on hand or you can bring your own!
A few details: Participants must first purchase a Gallery Society Membership, which can be obtained online: http://www.fortgallery.ca/society-membership.html or in person at the gallery. Society Memberships are $40 for the year ($25 for students and seniors) and come with a number of benefits outlined in the link above.
