The Federation of Canadian Artists' (FCA) purpose is "to share and promote the passion and pleasure of the visual arts to all Canadians through exhibition, education and communication." The FCA was founded in 1941 by a group of Canadian artists, of which early leading members included Group of Seven painters Lawren Harris, Arthur Lismer, and A.Y. Jackson. Dedicated to raising artistic standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of knowledge and achievement, the FCA offers opportunities for education, exhibition and communication in the Visual Arts to support and promote emerging to professional member artists.
