The exhibition combines the expressive wrought iron sculptures of Miran Elbakyan with the explosive abstract paintings of Gregorio Scalamogna.
Miran is a master of modern metal art and his wrought iron sculptures create a wonderful maze of discovery within the gallery space. They entice the viewer to wander at the organic metal art that stands before them, and they challenge the viewer’s concept of “rigidity”. This substance, iron, so strong and hard has been manipulated by Miran through the art of blacksmithing into delicate fluid sculptures that sometimes seem to defy the material itself.
Gregorio is a Canadian born Italian artist who challenges the "process" of painting. He draws upon his classical artistic training to bring life to canvases that become his art. His acrylic paintings also challenge the boundaries of the medium itself and like Miran, his work exudes the adventure of the "artists journey". Gregorio's paintings are textured yet tame, abstract in nature and diverse in technique. They are passionate energetic paintings that "bring life to a room".
Every turn within the space of this exhibit is intriguing. It engages the viewer to contemplate their creative journey, and entices the viewer and reminds them that they too are part of the "FLOW".
