Mika Haykowsky, "Vortex," 2022, Ink on paper, 28" x 20"
Created during an artist residency at cSpace at King Edward, insensitive is a practice in delicateness of hand and of preciousness (or lack thereof) in film photography. Though Mika Haykowsky typically works in bright colours, this work is an exercise in meditation and sketching for future sculpture projects through texture and movement.
Haykowsky is based out of Treaty 6 Territory ‘Edmonton’, where she practices communal living, gardening, drums and guitar, pottery, and a commitment to creativity and love. She received her MFA from the Art Academy of Trondheim, Norway in 2019.
