Temporary Gallery Closure March 18 to April 28
From a strong sense of obligation to protect the health and well-being of our employees, members and customers, we have made the decision to temporarily close the Coast Collective Art Centre effective March 18 through April 28th, to open again on Wednesday, April 29th. We will reassess on April 15th to ensure the reopening date reflects appropriate health and safety protocols.
As we will be closed through April, all main gallery and Westridge exhibitions have been cancelled or rescheduled and all April classes have been cancelled. Instructors and students will be notified accordingly, and we will be providing class credits or refunds for cancelled classes and workshops.
Web of Life: An Earth Day Children's Art Show will be taking place as an online-only exhibition so as to feature the hard work and thoughtful creations that many children have already produced. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates. Bloom 12 has been rescheduled to take place April 29 to May 24.
Emails will continue to be monitored while we are closed. If you have questions or concerns, send them to info@coastcollective.ca but please be patient; it may take time to get a response as we are not fully staffed.
Now is the time to be safe, be smart, and to take care of yourself, your family, and your friends. We are very hopeful and optimistic that with broad cooperation and prudence, this will pass and we will be able to get back to our normal lives in the very near future.
Thank you for your continued loyalty and support for the Coast Collective.
Karen Furey writes “I grew up in Victoria and can often be found in Goldstream Park and the many other local forests photographing trees, mushrooms, birds, and critters to reference for future paintings. I am particularly inspired by mossy rocks, ferns and lichen dotted with tiny flowers. My paintings represent the many colours of our beautiful west coast rainforest.”
