acrylic on canvas, 36" x 48". Courtesy of the Gallery.
Opening Reception: Saturday September 16, 2 - 4 PM
Goerzen’s most recent series of paintings focus mostly on locations in and around the city of Saskatoon, her lifelong home. There is a delightful variety of views, from bustling street scenes filled with twinkling holiday lights to more picturesque river valley vistas with the city skyline just barely visible in the distance. Throughout the works, Goerzen’s incredible talent is on full display. Working for many years as a watercolourist, she brings a masterful lightness and sense of colour to her work in acrylic. She renders light and form with astonishing accuracy and realism while maintaining a loose and painterly freshness. She has exhibited her work with art placement for more than forty years, and her paintings can be found in numerous corporate and private collections in Canada and abroad.
