"I use my imagination to bring a painting to life, trying to capture the essence of what I am feeling. Subject matter is not the most pivotal idea in my art; it is the way the painting is expressed. I will think about a subject for a while before I begin to paint it. It's about different layers representing different states of mind. Time and memories form within the canvas until the body of work is feels completed."
