Artist Statement: “Art is the colors and textures of your imagination.” Meghan Trainor
My love of colour, patterns, texture and the use of recycled, repurposed and found items is the starting point for most of my art pieces. I am a self-taught mixed media artist working intuitively – enjoying the process along the way. As a life-long learner I welcome this new journey as an artist as I continue to experiment with different mediums, techniques and my imagination. I think Picasso said it best, “Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? No.”
Bio: Lynda is a mixed media, self-taught artist who was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario, lived for many years in B.C. and has made Winnipeg her home since 1999. Lynda enjoys creating in paper marbling, collage, image transfer, pooled and poured acrylic and most recently has used her love of color, patterns, texture and recycled, repurposed and found items to create colourful pieces using various kinds of molding and crackling paste and heavy gel mediums. She has been a member of Cre8ery for several years and enjoyed many classes and workshops. She has had pieces in 99 Pieces of Art 2016 & 2017, Plan D Jan 2017 & the Auxiliary Gallery in 2015. She is beyond excited to be having her first solo show at Cre8ery!
