Julie Cutting: May First Thursday at The Fort Gallery
to
Fort Gallery 9048 Glover Road, PO Box 685, Fort Langley, British Columbia V1M 2S1
On the first Thursday of each month, The Fort Gallery hosts a variety of visual artists, writers and poets, and musicians from the local community who share their gifts and creations. On May 4th, we are pleased to welcome musician Julie Cutting.
Julie, sometimes called Maple Ridge’s own Songbird, plays a variety of folk, jazz and blues music, with her own particular twist to some great standards. A simple guitar style backs her sweet and rich voice, as she plays some of her own originals and a blend of her favourite covers.
Julie was a feature performer at Maple Ridge’s recent Earth Day Festival, is a regular musician at Kanaka Coffee House Open Mic, and will be a summer festival tour performer for Lytton River Festival and Spences Bridge Desert Daze, as well as Clinton Medieval Days.
Julie enjoys the support of her home and surrounding communities and performs locally whenever she has a chance.
Also featured at this month’s First Thursday, which will be held in conjunction with the opening reception for our current exhibit Proximity and Distance, is the Gallery’s own Lisa Nickel together with fellow artist Joy Munt, who will talk about their work.
The Fort Gallery thanks the Township of Langley for sponsorship of First Thursday community arts events.
