New Vistas is an annual capstone project by graduating students from Humber Polytechnic’s Arts Administration and Cultural Management program. This unique event, presented in partnership with the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery, combines a visual arts exhibition with live theatre, showcasing emerging artists from equity-deserving communities. The project amplifies underrepresented voices, promoting diverse perspectives while supporting artists in both exhibiting and selling their work. For students, New Vistas provides hands-on experience in arts management, equipping them with the practical skills needed to become future leaders in the cultural sector.
This year’s exhibition, Echoes of Home, invites artists to explore the deeply personal and multifaceted concept of "home." Whether viewed as a place, a memory, a feeling, or a community, Echoes of Home encourages artists to share their unique interpretations of what home means to them and how it shapes their lives and creative work. Through a variety of artistic expressions, the exhibition opens a space for dialogue around themes of belonging, identity, and the evolving nature of home in our ever-changing world.
Echoes of Home brings our community together by amplifying voices from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The work presented here connects universal themes with personal perspectives, creating a rich tapestry of meanings around the concept of home.
