This exhibit comprises artwork created by members of the North Okanagan Federation of Canadian Artists, a community of over 60 artists from the north Okanagan area, which includes emerging artists through to highly proficient professional artists.
Perspectives can be interpreted literally - as artists we play with the perspective we see around us in a physical sense and transpose this to a 2D surface - or figuratively, as we interpret in our artwork a personal perspective of our world through our individual lenses.
Every aspect of our world is being impacted by change: how humans interact with each other, how humans impact the environment, how the tools and processes humans use are developed and used. The rate at which these elements change continues to accelerate. Normal becomes new normal before anyone can adjust.
An artist’s perspective and how they express themselves has also become destabilized. As creative people, however, we are driven to express what we see and feel. Our show will be a collection of perspectives on seeing the world as it continues to change.
