Open Call For Exhibitions (2022 – 2023)

Deadline For Submissions Is May 24, 2022.

Results Will Be Announced June 30, 2022.

The Alberta Society of Artists invites artists residing in Alberta to submit work of any medium to our in-house and partnered gallery spaces for the 2022-2023 season.  Please not that all exhibitions are contingent on COVID related changes and challenges.

Please read the details as follows:

1. The ASA Gallery will host two Solo Exhibitions per year in the Mezzanine Space and invites submissions from ASA Juried Members and ASA Associate Members only for these exhibitions. Each exhibition will run 6-8 weeks in length.

2. The ASA Gallery will host two Small Group Exhibitions (approx. 3 – 6 artists) per year in the Main Space. Submissions for these exhibitions are open to both members and non-members. You must apply as a group of at least 3 artists (maximum 6). Each exhibition will run 6-8 weeks in length.

 A third Small Group Exhibition will be hosted by the ASA at  the Calgary Public Library for one month. Submissions for this space will be open to both members and non-members.

All Small Group Exhibition submissions should include a cohesive body of work and concept expressed in the group’s artist statement.

 3.  Juried Members, Student and Associate Members will also have an opportunity to submit applications for a Solo Exhibition Show-and-Sale at the Walterdale Theatre in Edmonton. Each exhibition will run for one month. *please note artists will not receive honorariums for show and sale exhibits.

All submissions will be adjudicated by a panel of visual art professionals in a blind jury process.

All accepted artists (except for show and sale exhibits) will receive an honorarium from the ASA.
