Organized especially for SSNAP 2019 an exhibit celebrating the work of Judy Anderson, the winner of SSNAP 2017, together with the work of her son Cruz Anderson.
Judy Anderson's prize winning entry for SSNAP 2017 “This one brings me the most pride” comes back to Salt Spring and is given context with additional pieces made before and after 2017. These include “There is life in there “ a depiction of the four Cree directions: North (white), East (yellow),South (red), West (blue), which Judy began while on Salt Spring for her prize winning residency. This series was most recently exhibited at La Guilde in Montreal, one of Canada's oldest art galleries to exhibit Indigenous Craft, as part of “ Beading Now” described by the press as “ a stunning display of contemporary artistic practice”.
