Born in Mombasa, Kenya, and raised in Penticton, BC, Richard's artistic journey began at an early age. Inspired by his reading of Vincent van Gogh in his teens, he became determined to pursue a life in art. Richard went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the University of Victoria in 1982.

Richard's captivating nature paintings challenge traditional perspectives, drawing us into the delicate, tangled beauty of Vancouver Island's undergrowth. His work encourages contemplation and offers a renewed appreciation for the often-overlooked details of our natural world. Join us in welcoming Richard and his vibrant vision to the gallery!
