Monte Clark Gallery is pleased to present a selection of work from two of Scott McFarland’s most recent bodies of work, Sky Leaks and Lens Cleaning. Both series continue the artist’s well-established history of examining and depicting the science, mechanics, and process of photography.
The Sky Leaks series consists of chromogenic prints installed in lightboxes, depicting two types of spontaneous imagery: cloud formations, and anomalies created by film that has been damaged by exposure to light and water. These works continue the artist’s interest in exploring light sources and their relationship to photography, as well they are a nod to McFarland’s history of depicting cloud formations as markers of duration.
