Just in time for Valentine's Day !
Steve Driscoll creates fine art using unorthodox materials. Driscoll’s process begins by capturing beautiful moments in the natural world using cutting edge photography technology. Next he mixes vibrant oil paints with urethane and recreates those moments typically on large scale plastic panels. With this method, he creates otherworldly representations of the world around him. Lately Driscoll’s focus has turned to public projects; most recently he completed massive backlit glassworks to be displayed in the future CIBC Square building.
Driscoll’ latest glass works were on display July 27 – October 17, 2020 at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, ‘I Closed My Eyes But The Light Was Still There’. This was Driscoll’s third museum show.
The artist’s work can be found in many notable collections, including that of the Four Seasons, TD Bank, BMO, Scotia Bank, the McMichael Art Collection and the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Edmonton.
