"Travelling To A Place Called B.C.” is the title of Rod Corraini’s latest art show hanging in Nanaimo’s Art 10 Gallery for all of November, 2024. It is a series of humorous satirical images that leaves viewers something to think about.
I hear well travelled people all the time say we live in the most beautiful place in the world.I came up with a visual odyssey of 2 extraterrestrials that are noticeably of different species that travel together to our beautiful province.
They go through all kinds of pitfalls to get here as well as trying to adapt to their B.C.vacation adventure. I include all the things that can go wrong on the trip plus everything that a visitor could meet(including our local cryptids).
It’s my celebration of renewed movement after the lifting of Covid 19 travel restrictions. It also implies in a humorous way that people should get along with each other and open their eyes to the wonders and experiences of living.
Art 10 is at Nanaimo North Town Centre and “Travelling To A Place Called B.C.” can be viewed during mall opening hours.
