Artist Statement

My focus in this exhibition is on everyday women–particularly on the strength and resilience that can show through in dark times and in happy times, in work and in play.
Not all the pieces were preconceived. I often begin by creating abstract backgrounds and allowing the images to emerge. As they come to life they sing with colour.
