Thank you for your inquiry and interest in Joe Fafard's work. We have visitors to the gallery ask us this quite frequently. When Joe constructed the cast for this sculpture, he deliberately made the pupils of the eyes facing straight ahead, but ever so slightly off to the sides. Thus, you get the effect of the eyes following you.
