African Art and the Modernist Lens, October 29, 2010 to January 23, 2011, Museum of Anthropology at UBC
The Surrealist photographer Man Ray had an important role in changing the west’s view of African art. His iconic photographs of African objects, and the design movement that sprang up around them, moved swiftly through the worlds of music, art, and popular culture. Vancouver’s Museum of Anthropology at UBC hosts Man Ray, African Art, and the Modernist Lens, circulated by International Art & Artists October 29 to January 23.
