Monique Martin uses bees to look at the fragility of life and the relationship between insects and humans in a print installation created in the form of a paper hive. Augmented by the sound of buzzing bees and the scent of beeswax, the installation features a five-block linocut print method on some 1,200 square feet of mulberry paper. "Life is a continuous cycle of growing and changing, no matter who you are or where you live," says Martin, who was born in Saskatoon. "Nothing is static. Nothing stays the same."
