Angela Grossmann at Herringer Kiss in Calgary
Angela Grossmann's latest exhibition, All that Glitters, is on view now through June 22 at Herringer Kiss Gallery in Calgary. It's been a big month for Grossmann, whose painting, Promenade (in Pink), sold for $48,000 this past weekend, setting a Contemporary Calgary fundraiser auction record.
Grossmann was still a student at Emily Carr College (now Emily Carr Institute) of Art and Design in 1985 when she was named as “one of the Vancouver Art Gallery's Young Romantic painters most likely to influence the course of painting in that decade.” Now an instructor at Emily Carr, she has exhibited her work across North America and Europe. In 2006, she was included on a list of 100 artists who have been the most influential on students at 11 British art schools, including the Royal Academy, the Slade School of Fine Art and the Royal College of Art.
