29 Artists, Creatives and Organizations to Become Founding Members of cSPACE King Edward’s Creative Community
Tenant reveal marks progress of cSPACE King Edwards stunning transformation from shuttered sandstone school to vibrant arts incubator as Phase 1 nears completion (December 2016)
On October 20, cSPACE Projects announced the 29 non-profit organizations, professional artists and pioneering creatives who will become the founding members of cSPACE King Edward’s creative community.
“Our vision is for cSPACE King Edward to be a place for people at the creative edge of change to collaborate and converge across disciplines and mediums, so it was important for us to be thoughtful and intentional in curating a community of members who are passionate about shaping the future of art and creativity in Calgary” explains Reid Henry, President & CEO of cSPACE Projects, the social enterprise behind the flagship King Edward project.
Located at 1720 - 30th Avenue SW in the vibrant, arts-friendly inner-city neighbourhood of South Calgary, the LEED Gold certified cSPACE King Edward will soon be home to an exciting mix of organizations, artist collectives and individuals working across many creative, artistic, social and technological disciplines, including:

“We believe that the arts / creativity can have incredible impact to communities and economies,” said Colin Menzies of Studio C. “It is our intent through Studio C to foster this in Calgary. We are confident cSPACE King Edward would provide quality space and networking opportunities that would allow Studio C to further its impact.”
