Some $30,000 in prizes are up for grabs at the Alberta College of Art and Design's annual art exhibition for high school students from Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
The juried exhibition, which runs from July 7 to July 14, includes art, craft and design.
The grand prize is a scholarship for first year studies and a matching grant to support the winner’s high school art program.
The event connects the institution with secondary schools and educators at a grassroots level, says Craig Wright, director of student and enrolment services.
"It empowers our young emerging artists to connect with their peers and weave themselves into the fabric of the Canadian creative community," he says.
The program will expand to neighbouring provinces in 2019.
Winners will be announced on July 14.
