In addition to his time as the International Curator at the Liverpool Biennial, Mr. Fusi's previous tenures include: Artistic Director of PIAC (The International Contemporary Art Prize of the Foundation Prince Pierre de Monaco), Director of Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool, Chief Curator at Palazzo delle Papesse Contemporary Art Centre and the Contemporary Art Curator of the Santa Maria della Scala Museum.
Over the years, Fusi has commissioned almost 200 new works to artists from around the world at different stages in their careers, curated or co-curated over 50 exhibitions (between solo presentations, group shows and retrospectives), and written and edited numerous publications. Fusi is also an experienced art historian, delivering academic lectures regularly in the UK and internationally.
The IKG is named after Illingworth "Buck" Kerr (1905–1989), Alberta artist and former director of ACAD. It has exhibited contemporary visual art for over 50 years, and is the longest-running international art program in Calgary.
As part of ACAD, the IKG fosters a vibrant culture of art and design in Alberta by providing context for viewing and discussing new and recent works in all media.
