The Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC) has announced the launch of the Canadian Art Hop, a new national arts event featuring commercial galleries, museums, artist-run centres and not-for-profit galleries across the country.
More than 60 ADAC commercial galleries will take part in the event, scheduled from Thursday, April 25 to Sunday, April 28.
In Alberta, Contemporary Calgary, Nickle Galleries, Esker Foundation, Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre and the Art Gallery of Alberta will join the province's ADAC member galleries.
More participants will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
“This inaugural event promises to captivate art enthusiasts, collectors and community members with an array of art-centred programming,” according to the news release.
“Embracing a multitude of mediums, styles, and narratives, the participating galleries will be highlighted as hubs of creativity, fostering dialogue and engagement within their communities during the weekend and thereafter.”
ADAC is a national not-for-profit organization representing commercial galleries across Canada. “With a mission to promote the dissemination and appreciation of Canadian art both nationally and internationally, ADAC serves as an advocate for the visual arts community, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in artistic practice,” according to the ADAC website.
