Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Director and CEO Nancy Noble has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The medal is in recognition of Noble’s contribution to arts and culture in Canada throughout the past three decades.
A past board member and president of the Canadian Museums Association, Noble currently sits on the board of CAMDO-ODMAC and has been a board member for many other arts and cultural boards across Canada. In 2018 she was made a Fellow of the Canadian Museums Association, the organization’s highest honour.
Curing her time as CEO of the Museum of Vancouver, a collaborative exhibition with the UBC Museum of Anthropology and the Musqueam Cultural Centre, Casnaem, The City Before the City, won the Governor General's history award for excellence in museums.
The Coronation Medal was created to mark the coronation of King Charles III. It was launched in 2023 by Governor General of Canada Mary Simon, to recognize people who have made major contributions to the country and their home province.
“We are thrilled that Nancy has received recognition for the work she has done at the AGGV and across Canada, to make museums more accessible,” said AGGV Board Chair Carol Anne Harper.
Noble’s award was presented by Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Jane Austin, on behalf of the Governor General.
