Alexandra Suda Appointed Director of National Gallery
Alexandra Suda, a Canadian art historian, has been appointed as director of the National Gallery of Canada.
Suda, the fourth woman to assume this role, will serve a five-year term beginning April 19.
Suda holds a PhD from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. She began her career at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and joined the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2011, where she leads a team as curator of European art and is the R. Fraser Elliott chair of prints and drawings.
Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez welcomed Suda, praising her exceptional talent and expressing confidence she will lead the gallery to the highest standards.
