Art Gallery of Alberta Hires Adjunct Curator of Indigenous Art
The Art Gallery of Alberta has hired Melissa-Jo (MJ) Belcourt Moses as a new adjunct curator of Indigenous art.
She will contribute to the Edmonton gallery's exhibition program, with a focus on the inclusion of work by contemporary Indigenous artists and build connections with Indigenous communities and artists, as well as furthering knowledge and understanding of Indigenous art.
She is the third adjunct curator of Indigenous art to work with the gallery.
A traditional Métis artist, she is a certified native cultural art instructor and most recently served as an Indigenous art consultant for Fort Edmonton Park and as Indigenous curator for the Edmonton Public Library.
