Art Gallery of Alberta to Host Sobey Exhibition

This year's exhibition by the five finalists for the Sobey Art Award will be presented at the Art Gallery of Alberta from Oct. 5 to  Jan. 5.

The Sobey Art Award, established in 2002, is Canada's most prestigious award for contemporary artists. Canadians 40 and under can be nominated until March 1.

A long list, comprised of 25 artists, will be released on April 16. The shortlist of five finalists, each representing a designated region of the country, will is released June 12. The winner will be announced at a gala reception at the Art Gallery of Alberta on Nov. 15.
