Art Gallery of Alberta Welcomes New Curator
Lindsey Sharman has been appointed curator of the Art Gallery of Alberta, effective Aug. 7.
"I am so excited to be joining the team at the Art Gallery of Alberta," says Sharma. "I look forward to showcasing Albertan artists and highlighting the best that our province has to offer in engaging and thought-provoking exhibitions."
Sharman has been the curator of the Founders’ Gallery at the Military Museums in Calgary, an academic appointment through the University of Calgary, and also an adjunct professor. She studied art history and curating in Canada, England, Switzerland and Austria.

She also organized Felled Trees, an exhibition deconstructing national identity at Canada House in London, and The Writing on the Wall: Works of Dr. Joane Cardinal-Schubert for the Nickle Galleries at the University of Calgary and the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery.
Sharman holds an honours degree in art history from the University of Saskatchewan and a graduate degree in curating from the University of the Arts in Zurich. She has contributed to publications including Galleries West, n.paradoxa, Blackflash and the Canadian Journal of Military History.
