Banff artist named first winner of Canadian War Museum’s Residency Program
Elise Lavallee Findlay has been named as the first winner of the Canadian War Museum’s Artist Residency Program.
Open to emerging artists from across Canada, the program was launched last fall on the museum’s website and received about 60 applications from across Canada.
As the winner, Lavallee Findlay’s work will be presented in an upcoming special exhibition, Outside the Lines, which opens May 24. It
Lavallee graduated with disinction from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2023 and received the school’s Board of Governor’s Award. Her work has been shown at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and the Leighton Art Centre.
