The Prisoner Unshackled’s Cabernet Sauvignon, limited-edition packaging designed by Canadian street artist Ben Johnston.
Canadian street artist Ben Johnston has teamed up with The Prisoner Wine Company and Unshackled to create a limited-edition holiday packaging for The Prisoner Unshackled’s Cabernet Sauvignon.
Throughout late November and December, the wine will be sold in select Canadian wine shops in a cylindrical black and gold metal tin, inspired by the sort of spray paint cans that Johnston uses in much of his work. Only 1,000 units of the limited-edition packaging have been created.
Based in Toronto, Johnston specializes in typography-based art. In addition to projects for clients such as Patagonia, Adidas, Holt Renfrew and Hennessy, he has shown his work in Toronto's Taglialatella Gallery, Hashimoto Contemporary and ABV Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. He studied industrial design and worked for design agencies in South Africa before moving back to Canada to focus on branding and typography.
