Burnaby Art Gallery Welcomes New Director/Curator

The Burnaby Art Gallery announces the appointment of Ellen van Eijnsbergen as the new Director/Curator of the Burnaby Art Gallery.
A Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from Simon Fraser University (2001), Ellen brings a wealth of experience in the sector of cultural arts. From 2001 to 2005, Ellen was the Visual Arts Education Coordinator at Coquitlam’s Evergreen Cultural Centre. From there, Ellen became Evergreen Cultural Centre’s Visual Arts Manager.
Ellen has organized and curated over 40 local, regional and international exhibitions that gave her the opportunity to work with emerging, established and senior artists during group and solo exhibitions. In 2011, Ellen joined the City of Burnaby as the Fine Arts Coordinator at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
I welcome the opportunity to work together with the staff and volunteers of the Burnaby Art Gallery to advance community engagement through public interaction with exhibitions, programs and the extensive collection of art work entrusted to the gallery. - Ellen van Eijnsbergen
