Calgary Arts Development is launching a new series of workshops, Public Art 101, professional development opportunities for artists, community groups and commissioning bodies who want to learn more about creating public art. Longtime public art consultant and project manager Dawn van de Schoot will lead the workshops.
“Workshop topics are based on requests from the community and are intended to demystify the public art process in all phases of development — applications, budgets, community engagement, fabrication and more,” according to the news release.
