The Canada Council for the Arts has teamed up with CBC to offer a new opportunity for artists.
The initiative, called the creation accelerator, is designed to support development, creation and sharing of original digital content for potential distribution on CBC's digital platforms.
The initiative has two phases. Successful applicants will receive an initial grant to develop an original idea with an independent producer. The Canada Council and CBC will then select projects for production.
The call for applications is open to artists, artistic organizations and groups with a validated Canada Council profile, in any field of practice. No prior digital experience is required.
Proposals for unique and boundary-pushing content with potential to engage a broad audience or under-served public, are welcome. Formats include podcasts, web series, short docs, digital graphic novels, experimental dance videos, sound art, animation and more.
The deadline is Oct. 16. More information will be available in late June on the council’s grant application portal.
