The Canada Council for the Arts is accepting applications for $116.5 million in funding to support arts and live events workers hit by COVID-19.
The funding, announced in the federal government's last economic statement, offers one-time additional support for research, creation, conception and production activities by artists and arts groups.
The council says the funding will stimulate job creation as well as research, creativity and innovation.
"The investments will serve as a springboard for sector recovery and strengthen the digital scene that’s taking shape right now," it says in its announcement.
The funding is channeled through the council's Explore and Create program and its Digital Now initiative, with no changes to guidelines and eligibility.
Deadlines are March 31, April 8, April 28 and Oct. 6, depending on the program.
