Vancouver's Capture Photography Festival has hired Cheyenne Rain LeGrande as its new assistant curator.
LeGrande is a multi-disciplinary Nehiyaw (Cree) artist whose work includes installation, photography, video, sound and performance. She earned a BFA this year from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
LeGrande recently received the B.C. regional prize for the BMO 1st Art! Competition and is on the long-list for the Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Prize.
As assistant curator, LeGrande will help research, develop, plan and execute the artistic program for the annual festival.
