Catriona Jeffries Opens in New Location
The Catriona Jeffries Gallery has a new home at 950 East Cordova in Vancouver.
Its inaugural exhibition, Unexplained Parade, opens Feb. 9 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m
The exhibition will be on view until May 11.
Artists include Abbas Akhavan, Valérie Blass, Raymond Boisjoly, Geoffrey Farmer, Brian Jungen, Myfanwy MacLeod, Liz Magor, Elizabeth McIntosh, Damian Moppett, Jerry Pethick, Judy Radul, Kevin Schmidt, Ron Terada, Ian Wallace and others.
Each of the 21 gallery artists were invited to name another artist, past or present, of significance to their current work and thinking.
"It was our plan to bring works by each of these artists together to open our new space with an exhibition that would develop over the course of almost four months," the gallery said. "A slow roll forward in unison.
The gallery is in a former purpose-built workshop for Pilkington Metal Marine in an industrial zone adjacent to the Port of Vancouver. Site renovations were led by Patkau Architects.
