Toronto's Contact Photography Festival will adapt its programming in 2021, moving beyond its usual month-long format to roll out exhibitions throughout the year.
Indoor exhibitions planned for May will open later in the year due to the pandemic, but select projects will be displayed from May 1 in public spaces across Toronto.
The festival's website also offers ways to interact with this year's lens-based projects. Digital programming, such as online conversations, video screenings, photo essays and audio talks, are available.
Festival director Darcy Killeen says this year's projects "envision more inclusive realities and honour diverse voices – visually transporting viewers to places of understanding, empathy, and resilience.”
